According to 2007 research from the Pew Internet and American Life project, 50% of all Americans have a broadband or high-speed Internet connection.
Of those that are able to view online video with broadband connections, 57% of online adults have used the internet to watch or download video, and 19% do so on a typical day.
In addition, 74% of broadband users who have a connection at home and work watch and download video online.
The Pew report also gives statistics on the viral and social nature of online video. Of online video viewers, 57% share links to the video they find with others, and 75% reported that they have received links to watch video that others have sent them.
The report states that young adults are the most likely to use the participatory features of online video such as content rating, uploading and posting feedback.
With this type of active involvement from so many age groups, why aren’t you posting your videos online to get your message out there?
