Black History Month is more than simply acknowledged at the University of Pittsburgh; it is celebrated every year with a special event. This year was no exception and On Motion Media was asked to create three biographical videos to premier at the celebration. Each video paid tribute to an African American who has contributed greatly to not only the University, but also the world. The three honorees for this year’s event were Vernell Lillie, founder and artistic director of the Kuntu Repertory Theatre, Toi Derricotte, award-winning poet and jazzman Nathan Davis, whose video is featured here.
